if you look at it from the attitude that boeing has, they’ve been sitting on their thumbs for over 2 years now and they want to get mcas and boeing 787 grounded asap, which will cause tremendous pressure on the faa. the faa is obviously helping boeing out by not grounding the 787 max.
the entire aviation industry needs to stand in unison against boeing to prevent a repeat of boeing’s failed strategy of „market share maintenance“.
boeing 787s will continue flying, and 737 maxs will continue flying, and they will continue to lose customers. why? because they did not know what they were doing. they couldn’t make a decision until they knew what was going to happen.

your point is valid as this is the best route to take, but it wont get rid of the problem. it will help, but it cant. top flight sims will always be developed and expanded upon, its a revolving door. here we are now, boeing has settled on a tlc strategy. and they are going to stick with it. the only thing they are going to do now, is to engage in a „more traditional crisis strategy.“ that means they will basically lose the public relations battle, and spending money on lawyers, pr firms, etc, ad infinitum. because, boeing does not have to worry about their product anymore. it will only work out well or badly for them based on public opinion, not because of the products performance or quality. so, my suggestion here is to contact the many boeing customers that did not accept the tlc strategy, and ask them what to do. perhaps there is a way for boeing to make a product worth buying. if so, they would get their billions of dollars back, and all of their pr agencies would be out of business after all.
i keep reading about unions being bad things, then i read this article http://www.ag.org/aboutus/press-releases/2015/07/08/unions-help-to-build-americas-economy and it doesnt seem to have that effect. let me explain my current situation. i currently work for a union company that has to recently come out of a bankruptcy, long ago. the union contract is a real tight one, and only makes money for itself not the company. they added a bunch of new rules which made the company go broke, and after the company went bankrupt union members had to wait for 5-6 years to get their pensions in full, 10 years to get full medical benefits, and no individual members of the union got any of these benefits even after that wait. the union helped make sure they went broke. this isnt good and if it happens with the boeing workers then that would be bad. my point is that unions didnt make the company go broke and thats the only reason i can see union members being the bad guys. also, don’t forget the point about the number of planes that boeing would need to make if it did not use off-the-shelf parts.
i think we all agree that union bashing in corporate america is not a good thing. however, the union’s biggest sin is that it is a powerful and well-organized collection of individuals who are able to work together as a cohesive unit. being able to work as a collective team can be a very powerful force in a corporation. for every individual employee within the union, the effect can be positive. those individuals cannot in any way stand against the union at large.
if there was ever a corporation that should be unionized it would be boeing. they could afford to pay the fair union dues, and that way they would get the benefits that other workers get. most of the benefits that other people receive are the result of the power of unions. if boeing had their own union, which is an easy thing to do and can be made profitable, there would be fewer articles like this one.
