Glad to see that Adobe is still „evolving“ the software to keep pace with the changes in modern software. I’ve been using it since version 3.5 and use it every day at work – even without a current subscription of course. One key weakness, however, is that it’s very slow on my MacBookPro running MacOS Sierra 10.12.4. (Much faster on an early 2011 MacBook Pro, which fortunately I didn’t sell.) I believe the slowdown is due to the software not being optimized for high-powered Intel machines. (It’s obvious from the CPU usage statistics!) Visually the upgrade seems substantial, but the functionality is much more lacking.
I agree with much of Joshua’s review. This is the best version of Photoshop to date in terms of speed as well as clarity. However, the new AI Skins are „soft“ compared to the original AI features and are lacking in features. The new AI features allows for more customization than the older AI features and is one of the few things that makes this version of Photoshop superior to other competing programs. The new „Rumble mode“ is also very helpful. Aggressive promoters of the program often claim this new feature is as good as using the original AI edition, but to make the most of it you need to practice and develop the ability to interpret its warnings and feedback accordingly. In my opinion, this is not a feature that even top NLE (non-linear editor) professionals utilize much since the process of learning to understand its feedback can be slow.
The new InDesign CC 2015 and newer version of PhotoShop CC 2015 tablet apps introduce an entirely new set of workflow options available in a new set of app tabs on the left side of the Photoshop editor, instead of under the File menu. The Move & Copy tool and other tools are in the Drawing tab now and offer many new commands and options, and in the browser tab various options now live on the bottom of the page. Many of the one click features and options you’re used to having in the menu bar have now been moved somewhere else and there’s no longer ad hoc menu command for every option you might need for a particular task.

You can also use different filters to manipulate your image. The Adjustment Brush and Gradient tool can modify the colors or shades in your image, including lighting. The pencil tool and paint (or brush tool) can help you create new colors in your image. The blur and straighten tools let you change the perspective of your images. These tools are ideal when you want to get closer to your subjects.
